Today was the first day of press week at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, which has been complete with unveilings, awards, concepts, and much more.  Some of the highlights include the debut of the redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion, the brand new Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid and Dodge Dart, the introduction of the Audi Q3 Vail and S4, Bentley New Continental GT V8, BMW Active Hybrid 3, and much more.  Plus, the awarding of the 2012 North America Car of the Year to the Hyundai Elantra.

I’ve done this three times and all three times I’ve been asked to do volunteer work.  I’m big with that, so I always say yes!  I’m mentoring at a women in broadcasting seminar later this month.  Always pay it forward!

While the name seems like another odd celebrity baby name moniker, fans and the media alike have been speculating as to what the significance behind the name might be and are trying to connect the dots to clues found in the possibly meaning.

Fans and sources close to the couple suggest that the  couple chose the name ‘Ivy’ because of the number 4 or the Roman Numeral IV, which bares special significance to the couple.

The number 4 has been a repeated pattern throughout the couple’s relationship. Beyoncé’s birthday is Sept. 4 and Jay-Z’s on Dec. 4; they married on April 4, 2008; they reportedly have matching ‘IV’ tattoos on their wedding fingers; and or course Beyoncé named her last album ’4′.

Fans say the name ‘Blue’ might stem from the name of Jay-Z’s album titles, three of which have the word “blueprint” in the title — The Blueprint; The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse; and The Blueprint 3.

According to People magazine, over the holidays, the couple also sent out blue Christmas cards to friends and family in anticipation of the birth.

No official explanation has been made by the new celebrity parents on the real meaning behind the name yet, so when or if they do reveal the real meaning to the name, we will just have to wonder about Blue Ivy Carter!

R&B singer Toni Braxton has no shame when it comes to flaunting her gorgeous body in revealing gowns over the years. Appearing in backless dresses, plunging necklines, teenie minis, and who could forget that barely there silver dress she wore to the 2001 Grammys, Toni always turns heads in whatever she wears on the red carpet!

Roasted Cornish Game Hens from Foodnetwork.com

Ingredients

1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons lemon-pepper
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
2 tablespoons olive oil
6 Cornish game hens, about 1 1/2 pounds each, rinsed and dried thoroughly
1 green bell pepper, large dice
2 stalks celery, large dice
1 onion, large dice

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

In a small mixing bowl, stir together salt, lemon pepper, dried basil and poultry seasoning. Rub olive oil all over the hens and season each with the salt mixture. Place the hens on a baking sheet pan with plenty of space between them. You may need to use 2 pans. Loosely stuff the cavities of each hen with some green bell pepper, celery and onion. Roast the hens in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the thigh registers 165 degrees F and the juices run clear. Remove the hens from the oven, loosely tent with foil and let rest 10 minutes before carving or serving.

TIPS: Line the baking sheet pan with foil under the wire rack for an easy clean-up. The veggies and herbs stuffed in the cavities of the hens will impart flavor to the meat as it cooks. Be sure not to crowd the hens on the baking sheets or else the skin won’t crisp up properly and they will take much longer to cook.

Stars lined the red carpet for the premiere of NBC’s taping of ‘Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America’s Golden Girl‘ special at Millennium Biltmore Hotel on Sunday. The network and friends came out to the big birthday bash to celebrate the Golden Girl’s milestone and TV special, which airs on Jan. 16 on NBC, one day before her real birthday.

E! News reported that Beyoncé checked in to the Lenox Hill Hospital possibly under the name “Ingrid Jackson” (after previous rumors suggested that she would be at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital) on Saturday, Jan. 7th. The star gave birth to a baby girl late Saturday night, delivering via a planned C-section.

Some initial reports haven’t been clear on whether Beyoncé and Jay-Z named their newborn girl Blue Ivy or Ivy Blue, but after some clarification from friend Gwyneth Paltrow, the consensus seems to be on Blue Ivy.
